Proudly present to you our latest publication from #PhytoRG. We are excited to announce that we have successfully disseminated this significant research output in the esteemed Journal of Food Measurement and Characterization. This achievement reflects the collective efforts and dedication of our entire team, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to each member for their invaluable contributions, insightful input, and relentless support throughout the research process. A special shout-out goes to Chan Wen Shan for her remarkable research work that has been instrumental in this publication. Her commitment and expertise have greatly enriched our findings. This accomplishment underscores our unwavering commitment to producing high-impact research work in the dynamic and vital field of herbal medicine, where the exploration of natural compounds continues to reveal promising health benefits.
This paper focuses on the innovative application of spray drying technology for the microencapsulation of antioxidative compounds, particularly flavonoids, which are known for their significant health-promoting properties. The primary objective of this research is to enhance the delivery efficiency of these bioactive compounds while addressing the common challenge of their solubility. Through a meticulous optimization process, our results demonstrate that we have successfully preserved more than 80% of the bioactive composition, which is a remarkable achievement in the field of nutraceuticals. Furthermore, the physicochemical properties of the resultant powders are found to be satisfactory, indicating their potential for practical applications. The microcapsules developed through this process could serve as a groundbreaking encapsulation formulation within the nutraceutical industry, paving the way for new product development that can effectively deliver health benefits to consumers. This research not only contributes to academic knowledge but also holds promise for real-world applications that can enhance the nutritional quality and therapeutic efficacy of herbal products.
